Trauma Deletion Therapy

What is Trauma Deletion Therapy?

The main modality used with Trauma Deletion Therapy is EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or Tapping which is a rapid stress reduction and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) trauma releasing techniques using elements of cognitive therapy, with physical stimulation of acupuncture points and current understanding of the psychology of trauma.

We use the power of Hypnosis also in Trauma Deletion sessions to help release old subconscious conditioning and limiting beliefs, while at the same time we are helping you create new positive beliefs about yourself, rebuilding self-confidence and self-esteem.

Another key to PTSD Trauma Deletion is teaching you about your mind and how to set yourself up for success, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Life Success Coaching. This combination is very powerful in helping clients be free of past trauma and create a happier, healthier future.

Trauma Deletion Therapy - Hypnosis & Emotional Freedom Centre

EFT has been proven to be one of the most valuable therapies for deleting PTSD trauma and its after effects

Qualities that make EFT stand out from other therapies for trauma deletion therapy include:

What is EFT?

These meridian points that are tapped on with EFT have been used in acupuncture and acupressure for more than 2000 years. In fact, EFT has been described as a kind of emotional acupuncture, but without needles.

A 10-year Harvard study of acupuncture points found that when acupuncture points were stimulated, they send a message to the stress centre of the brain (the amygdala) telling it to calm down. Effectiveness has been established for Phobias, PTSD Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Emotional Eating Behaviours, Addictions, Pain and much more. The results generally last long term.

Practitioners routinely give you a choice of either them tapping on your points for you or you can tap on your own points as you mirror them. It is always your choice.

How does EFT work?

The mechanisms behind EFT in PTSD Trauma Deletion Therapy include deactivation of the amygdala (stress centre in the brain) and hippocampus (memory centre), and vagal nerve improvement.

EFT has also been shown to significantly lower cortisol (our stress hormone) levels. Research on gene expression indicates EFT has the ability to down regulate genes associated with the stress response, and up-regulate to improve immune function.

The flexibility that EFT offers means that there is no fixed rigid protocol for a session which allows the practitioner to flow with whatever comes up for clients and adapt to their needs easily.

You don’t even have to talk about the memory you have of a past trauma at all unless you are comfortable to do so.

What does tapping do to you?

Tapping on these acupuncture points calms the amygdala, the area of the brain that acts as “the big red alarm button” that triggers anxiety hormones to flow through the body if it detects any perceived danger. That can happen whether the danger is real, or something has triggered a memory of a past trauma.

Traumatic memories also have a way of tricking us into believing we are experiencing something now when we are really subconsciously remembering something in the past. This time distortion is one of PTSD’s frequent symptoms.

EFT takes advantage of this mind mechanism. We can recall a memory, then use tapping to reduce or eliminate the anxiety, fear or terror that is linked with it and produce a new version of that memory’s emotional content. The story will stay the same, but its emotional charge will change for the better.

EFT allows the practitioner to go gently and indirectly into traumatic memories, working at a pace that the client is comfortable with, to enable the client to get fairly swift, sometimes even immediate, relief from specific troublesome feelings, even in people who’ve experienced multiple traumas, and it can be from decades ago.
